Fox Trot

Fox Trot is one of America’s most beloved dance styles. It provides a fundamental base for learning the other dance styles.

The easy and cursive combinations provide a variety of steps and easiness in movement. The ability to dance to slower, medium or quick rhythms will bring an extra confidence and will assure fun and relaxation for you and your partner.

The origins of this dance style are still under dispute among the experts, but one of the most diffused theories is that it was invented by the theater actor, Harry Fox, while acting on the stage of New York Theater.

The story is that Harry initially invented a series of steps which proved to be very popular among the audience, and finally Arthur Murray together with many other dance instructors took those and started to teach them in the form of a new dance style, later known as Fox Trot.

Fox Trot in modern variant keeps many of its ancestral features. As once a commenter said “it is a dance style that can be learnt easily and, at the same time, it is the most difficult one to master’.

Nowadays, Fox Trot remains one of the most popular dance styles in the world!
